Make This New Year Unforgettable
12.12.19
The New Year is the perfect time for celebration and to spend time with those who you are close to. But when it comes to choosing the perfect venue to share a dining experience with family and friends, where do you start?
Well to kick off the New Year in style, we’ve got a few suggestions for that perfect catch-up lunch or dinner.
Flower Drum may have reached its fifth decade but Anthony Lui isn’t letting the grand old Canto dame fade into obscurity. An amazing menu is on offer that boasts fried barramundi skin tossed in spicy salt and the single supersized xiao long bao, filled with premium seafood. Flower Drum is open throughout the week for lunch and dinner, but bookings are advised as this must-visit venue is always busy with fine diners and those trekking on a food discovery mission.
The dining space at the Magill Estate Restaurant is idyllic– achic glass-walled pavilion, sumptuously appointed with leather chairs and Blackwood tables, with a panorama of the vineyards. The atmosphere is calm, with soft-spoken staff guiding you through each morsel and glass. The menu is to die for, with more than 20 tastes starting with ingenious egss snacks, beluga caviar on a hot potato cake ethereal mayonnaise on chicken skin and trout roe with chives on a crumpet. The Magill Estate Restaurant is a destination that can’t be missed and is open for lunch and dinner towards the end of each week. Be sure to reserve your table as they go quick. Serving luxurious comfort food in a casual contemporary setting, Orso has Adelaide in a spin. Pasta, for one, oozes generosity, and embraces the same modern Mediterranean palate that informs the rest of the award-winning menu. Just a tip, try the Rich rabbit ragù that is folded through fat pappardelle, sprinkled with fried sage leaves and roasted hazelnuts. Matched to an amazingly prepared wine list that compliments the menu perfectly, Orso is a must-have destination this coming New Year. Click here for more information and opening hours.
